Ray crafted the Bonsai Tree sculpture at his former shop in Sequim, WA, using reclaimed transatlantic cable from the 1950s and disc harrow blades sourced from a farm in Chimacum, WA. Designed as a functional light fixture, the sculpture incorporates a lighting system made from truck taillights. It is one of a pair commissioned for a client at a golf course in Sequim, blending industrial materials with organic form.
